News: Maik Schmolke new Head of Sales Functional Solutions at Follmann

Maik Schmolke has been appointed Head of Sales Functional Solutions in the Design + Function Business Unit at Follmann in Minden, effective 1 March 2021. In this position, he is responsible for advising and supporting customers on all matters relating to functional coatings for technical textiles. He has more than 10 years of experience in international sales, acquired in companies of repute.

After obtaining an engineering degree (BSc) in wood technology, followed by further training in the field of adhesives and fibre-reinforced plastics, Maik Schmolke worked for many years as a sales expert in the adhesives and plastics sector. From 2016 to 2018 he was Head of Sales in the Wood + Furniture Business Unit at Follmann. Before rejoining Follmann, he held a sales position at nolax AG in Switzerland.

“Our functional coatings are suitable for numerous and widely varying applications on rigid and flexible substrates, including roofing membranes, agricultural textiles and geotextiles. We therefore intend to further expand sales of our products internationally and open up new markets. In Maik Schmolke we have gained an experienced, technically skilled sales expert, who not only has extensive specialist knowledge and international sales experience, but is also familiar with our company,” said Mark Stefan Schmitt, Director of the Design + Function Business Unit at Follmann.
