A significant change is occurring in the packaging and food industries as demand increases for sustainable, re-cyclable packaging solutions, including effective barrier protection against oils, greases and water. This applies in particular to packaging paper and board that are subsequently laminated with film in order to achieve the required barrier protection. The recycling process, however, becomes much more difficult, if not impossible.
Our water-based barrier coatings for gravure and flexographic printing have been especially developed for paper and board packaging. They provide an environmentally compatible alternative to plastic coatings that allows the end products to be simply and fully recycled. Offering outstanding protection against oils, greases and water, they not only meet regulatory requirements, but also fulfil the most demanding standards of high-performance prints.
